These are original Simplisafe Panic Buttons modified with an antenna for extended range.
You can use the modified sensors for locations that are too far from the base to pair, or that pair but frequently disconnect.
The original sensor is advertised as 800 ft “open air” range, this is slightly misleading –
depending on the building configuration and materials, the existing antenna can fail to provide a stable connection for much shorter distances.
I cannot guarantee the antenna will extend the range enough for your particular situation, but I have verified in my home I get 2-3x the distance when compared to a regular sensor. If the extended range is still not enough for your particular case, I am happy to accept returns minus shipping costs, provided the item is in the same condition as received.
** Testing & QA**
Each sensor goes through a quality check where I pair and verify their range.
In one of the attached images, you can see the testing location. The regular sensor loses connection about 98ft from the base. I check each sensor reports open/closed status from an additional 150ft up my street.
** Sourcing **
The sensors are purchased new from Amazon and and modified by me.
They have never been used and are only handled for the purposes of adding the extended range antenna and testing. The original packaging, tape, and screws are included.
** Compatibility **
This sensor is for Gen 3 Simplisafe only.
** Antenna Length **
Sensors will ship with an antenna measuring approx. 11.5″
You can cut that in half for a shorter antenna, although this may lower the range very slightly.
** Disclaimer **
Please note this modification will void the manufacturer’s sensor warranty. However, I do test each sensor individually before shipping them.
If you have any issues setting up the sensor, feel free to send me a message and I can try to help.

I’ve had 2 generations of SimpliSafe systems and have always had problems with 2 of my 3 door sensors going offline. I tried various suggestions from tech support (moved sensors, moved base station, changed batteries, removed, then re-added the sensors, etc.) and none of them helped.
I saw an article about adding a wire antenna but was hesitant to break open my sensors to try to solder in the wire.
This solution did the job for me. I’ve had both (new, with antenna) sensors in place now for almost three weeks and the connections have been rock-solid.
Thank you for finally making my system work for me the way it should have all along!
